MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – The Parliaments of Belarus and Serbia make a considerable contribution to bilateral cooperation, President of the National Assembly of Serbia Maja Gojkovic said as she met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 9 June, BelTA informs.
“For me it is a great honor to receive an invitation from the heads of the two chambers of the parliament to visit Belarus,” Maja Gojkovic said. She believes that this visit can be named historic as it is the first visit of the head of the Serbian parliament to Belarus. The Speaker of the Serbian parliament underlined the importance of the Belarus President’s visit to Serbia. In her words, the visit opened a new page in the Belarusian-Serbian relations.
“I am glad that the parliaments of the two countries can follow this path and make their contribution to the development of bilateral ties,” said Maja Gojkovic.
The head of the Serbian parliament views the relations between Belarus and Serbia as traditionally warm and friendly. She is confident that both the countries have been investing big efforts in the further development of bilateral cooperation.
