MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – Germany stays committed to the Minsk process aimed at settling the situation in eastern Ukraine, German Minister of Foreign Affairs Heiko Maas said at a press conference following the talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Berlin, TASS reports.
“We also talked over the situation in Ukraine. It is absolutely clear that Germany will not forget about people living in Donbass. Ukraine needs a long-term ceasefire observed by all the parties,” he said. “There is no alternative to the Minsk process. We want to make progress,” Heiko Maas said.
He also added that “experts of the Normandy format are going to meet soon.”
