MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – The main political goal for 2018 and in the longer term is the further enhancement of Belarus' role in the regional and world politics, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at the final board session of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the results of work in 2017 with the participation of Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov on 7 February, BelTA informs.
The minister stressed that Belarus is going to continue promoting a positive, unifying and peaceful agenda which is already associated with Belarus at the bilateral and multilateral levels. “The initiatives of the president such as the ideas of compatibility in Europe, partnership of integrations, renewal of the pan-European dialogue on the enhancement of trust, security, and cooperation have become its logical expression,” the minister continued.
In his words, there is certain progress in the political and economic support of our sovereignty and independence. Authoritative banks from all over the world more actively implement their projects in Belarus.
“But there are no reasons for self-complacency,” Vladimir Makei emphasized. The current speed of geopolitical and economic developments is so high that you may be lagging behind if you do not catch up with an opponent at the very start of your turn.”
