GOMEL, 26 October (BelTA) – Belarusian and Ukrainian companies and organizations signed over $100 million worth of contracts during the 1st Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich on 26 October.
“The total sum of the signed contracts stands at $101.545 million. It is a very good portfolio they’ve managed to put together during the forum,” noted the official.
In his words, new contracts were signed virtually in every industry. The number includes mechanical engineering, petrochemical industry, and textile industry. “A number of companies, which traditionally work on the Ukrainian market, have signed some contracts, but there are also new partners, new contracts and agreements,” he added.
At the same time the sides are ready to reach drastically new figures and the potential for it is available.
Vladimir Ulakhovich mentioned it is already necessary to form a new agenda of the second forum of regions of Belarus and Ukraine. In his opinion, the agenda should include new technologies, IT industry, and support for small and medium enterprises.
