MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian Healthcare Ministry recommends foreigners planning to come to Belarus for mass events to have fresh laboratory test results on hand, deputy head of the department for hygiene, epidemiology and disease prevention at the Healthcare Ministry Inna Karaban told reporters on 13 March, BelTA has learned.
“We recommend that all people who plan to come to Belarus for mass events from the countries where coronavirus was reported to take laboratory tests two days prior to the arrival and to bring the test results to Belarus,” Inna Karaban said.
At the same time, the Healthcare Ministry recommends to postpone mass events that will draw a great number of foreigners to a later date when the situation gets back to normal. It is up to organizers to decide whether to cancel such events or not. However, those who will hold mass events, need to take precautions. For example, there should not be sick people in close contact, there should be a one-meter distance between people at such events.
However, much depends on a person’s age and the state of their immune system. “This is true not only about coronavirus, but also any other respiratory diseases. Some people taking care of the sick at home also catch the infection, others do not,” head of the main department for public health, medical evaluation and appeals at the Healthcare Ministry Yelena Bogdan said.
Since 12 March, inspections have been underway to check ventilation systems, availability of disinfectants and observation of hygiene in public places.
