MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Belarusian and Russian military personnel demonstrated high professionalism during the joint army exercise Zapad 2017, foreign observes told the media on 20 September, BelTA has learned.
The Estonian observer Kiss Kaupo noted that the event had left a very good impression on him. “This army exercise was well-planned and professional,” he said. The Italian expert Massimo Fogari shared this opinion. He also commended great skills of Belarusian and Russian troops.
In general, foreign observers were satisfied with the organization of the Zapad 2017 exercise and the volume of information they got according to the 2011 Vienna Document.
The Belarusian-Russia joint strategic army exercise Zapad 2017 finished on 20 September. Belarus invited foreign observers to attend the event: representatives of international organizations (UN, OSCE, NATO, CIS, CSTO, the International Committee of the Red Cross), military attaches accredited in Belarus (over 80 people). Attending the exercise were military observers from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Sweden, and Norway.
