MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – Foreign countries are interested in Belarus’ experience in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the foreign diplomats taking part in the open hearings in Belarus' parliament told the media on 19 December. The hearings are dedicated to the partnership between the branches of power as a prerequisite for the successful achievement of the SDGs, BelTA informs.
The topic discussed in the upper house of Belarus’ parliament is crucial for the common future of all the countries in the world, said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Belarus Peter Dettmar. He added that the participants of the hearings are set to outline approaches to achieving the SDGs. A Belarusian delegation is scheduled to visit Germany in late January-early February 2018. The visit will be held with the support of the UN and the UNDP.
Today every country in the world should think about how to achieve the goals set by the UN, pointed out Head of the Swiss Embassy Office in Minsk Claude Altermatt. The diplomat expressed interest in Belarus’ experience in achieving the SDGs as the country takes an active part in all the fields of the UN’s work.
