MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) - Belarus will take adequate measures to respond to new Western sanctions, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media on 6 May, BelTA has learned.
“We will take adequate measures to respond to these sanctions. We must survive in this situation, we must preserve our sovereignty and independence,” said the minister.
Vladimir Makei is convinced that Belarus will cope with the next package of sanctions, which is now actively discussed in the European Union. “The memory of those killed during the Great Patriotic War obliges us to do so,” he said.
