MOSCOW , 17 May (BelTA) – Belarus-Russia relations are not affected by any external factors, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik said at talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
“I hope that today we will be able to discuss the whole spectrum of our bilateral agenda, coordination of actions of our foreign ministries in the international arena, joint response to external challenges and threats - threats to security, economic threats. The Russian Federation has always been and remains the most important partner, a strategic ally of the Republic of Belarus. Having a solid foundation based on shared history, our fraternal relations have stood the test of time and are not affected by any fluctuations,” Sergei Aleinik said.
The minister noted that the Belarus-Russia cooperation is notable for its diversity and depth in absolutely all spheres. “In other words, this is a unique union that we have built over the past years. And, of course, we remain committed to supporting Belarus-Russia cooperation, strengthening integration processes in economy, foreign policy and social sphere. And, of course, we are determined to continue active cooperation with you, your colleagues,” the Belarusian foreign minister added.
While on an official visit to Russia, Sergei Aleinik has already held meetings with the leadership of the State Duma and the Federation Council. The foreign minister spoke highly of these talks. According to him, they confirmed their shared determination to promote integration processes in the Union State and strengthen cooperation in various areas.
