Filip: Belarus, Moldova share views on conflict resolution

CHISINAU, 30 October (BelTA) – Moldova and Belarus are on the same page regarding conflict resolution means. Both countries believe that conflicts should be resolved only in a peaceful way, Moldova’s Prime Minister Pavel Filip said talking about the forthcoming Munich Security Conference Core Group meeting in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus and Moldova want peace; we strongly believe that ongoing conflicts should be tackled solely by peaceful means,” Pavel Filip underlined.

He noted that the Munich Security Conference Core Group meeting in Minsk will raise burning issues. Moldova’s representatives are set to take an active part in discussions.

Pavel Filip believes that external factors are often to blame for conflicts in a number of regions. “If something happens, it means that someone wanted it to happen. In order to find the right solution to frozen conflicts, to the things that threaten the world in a particular region, one should understand who benefits from it,” the premier noted. There is not a single person among ordinary people who would want to fight or suffer from such conflicts, he added.
