MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – The Christmas International Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament for the Prize of the President of Belarus becomes bigger every year, President of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Rene Fasel told the media in Minsk on 4 January, BelTA has learned.
“The tournament grows bigger with every year. This is really great,” Rene Fasel said.
Speaking about the preparations for the 2021 IIHF World Championship, the IIHF head said that Latvia and Belarus are two great ice hockey countries which are well-known as excellent hosts. “The two countries have already been working hard to organize the championship in the best possible way in 2021. I think it will be a true celebration of sport,” he said.
Rene Fasel recalled the IIHF World Championship in Minsk in 2014. He praised the level of organization of the tournament. “I have no doubts that the 2021 edition would be as good,” he added.
