MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ new military doctrine does not treat unfriendly nations as enemies, Colonel Andrei Bogodel, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Education and Science - Head of the Education and Methodology Department of the Faculty of the General Staff of the Armed Forces at the Military Academy of Belarus, said in a new episode of BelTA’s The Nation Speaks project.
"This is the proper approach. The head of state, the defense minister, the state secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus have repeatedly stated that the door is always ready for dialogue. If we designate certain countries as our enemies in the military doctrine, then it will be like a red rag to a bull for the military," Andrei Bogodel said.
"When we talk about unfriendly states and alliances we differentiate between the political leaders and people. We always extend greetings to people to congratulate them on holidays. We have even waived visas for citizens of the neighboring states," he stressed.
