GOMEL, 22 December (BelTA) – The expansion of the visa-free travel space in Belarus is under consideration. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin made the statement on 22 December during the ceremony held to hand over a challenge pennant to Gomel as the best oblast capital at urban accomplishment, BelTA has learned.
The official said: “The draft presidential decree regulating visa-free travel of foreign citizens is going through the final stage of the approval process. The visa-free travel program will be extended to ten days in Brest and Grodno as well as their surrounding territories.” Later on the ten-day period may be extended, too, he added.
According to Anatoly Kalinin, the measures are expected to increase the flow of foreign tourists to Belarus.
