MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – European partners would like Belarus and the European Union to sign agreements on readmission and on facilitating visa procedures. The relevant statement was made by Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei after negotiations with Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajcak on 22 June, BelTA has learned.
Negotiations between the Belarusian and Slovak ministers of foreign affairs touched upon prospects of signing Belarus-EU agreements on readmission and the facilitation of visa procedures among other things. Vladimir Makei said: “We are interested in securing agreements in these matters. I see interest on the part of our European partners, too.”
Vladimir Makei went on saying that there are certain technicalities that the sides need to address. “I think we will be able to bring our views closer to each other. There are essential disagreements,” pointed out the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs.
