MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) - A nuclear power plant is a source of pride for Belarus, Deputy Energy Minister Denis Moroz said as he welcomed the participants of the meeting of the Public Council of Rosatom State Corporation, which took place at the BelNPP training center, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
The deputy minister thanked the council members for their active participation in the events of the Energy Expo exhibition forum. The central place in the exposition was occupied by the project on construction and commissioning of BelNPP (Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant). “Belarus is very proud that in cooperation with Rosatom State Corporation it has become a country that is the owner of nuclear technologies,” he said.
ROSATOM Director General Alexey Likhachev addressed a greeting to the participants of the meeting via videoconference. “The BelNPP is the youngest, most efficient, safe, and beautiful plant in Europe. We always give Belarus as an example to our regular partners in the nuclear business and newcomer countries,” he said.
The project has not only given rise to a new industry in the country, but also ensured a new quality of development of the construction, metallurgical and machine-building complexes. The services of Belarusian organizations involved in the project are in demand not only at the NPPs in Russia, but also at other sites - in Egypt, Türkiye, and Bangladesh, Alexey Likhachev added.
The participants of the meeting visited the information and training centers of BelNPP, got familiar with the system of personnel training and advanced training, exchanged opinions with Belarusian specialists on topical issues of nuclear power development.
