GOMEL, 31 August (BelTA) – Ambassador of Ecuador to Belarus Carlos Larrea Davila expressed interest in further development of joint projects with Belarusian oil companies, the press service of the Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft told BelTA.
The Ambassador made the statement during the meeting with the Belorusneft management in Gomel. The meeting focused on matters concerning current and future operations in Ecuador.
While in Gomel the diplomat was also made familiar with the operation of the center for processing, researching, and storing core samples, the drilling operations support center, and several geological divisions, which are directly involved in supporting the joint projects in Ecuador.
Upon agreement with the state-run oil and gas company Petroamazonas specialists of Belorusneft’s Ecuadorian branch have fulfilled the first seismic exploration contract on an area of 1,500km2. Preparations are now in progress to start field seismic exploration on an area of 2,000km2. Another contract that has been signed envisages the seismic exploration, surveying, and extraction of oil in block 28, which is located in the country’s southeast in Pastaza Province. The Belarusian company will work in a consortium with Petroamazonas and ENAP (Chile) over there.
The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in the surveying, prospecting and development of oil fields, well drilling, oil and associated petroleum gas extraction in Belarus and a number of other countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
