MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Ecuador counts on Belarusian technology and knowledge, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ecuador to Belarus Carlos Larrea Davila told media after the wreath laying ceremony to mark the 206th anniversary of Ecuador’s Independence Day in the Simon Bolivar Park on 10 August, BelTA informs.
“Minsk will play host to the ceremony of signing the first agreement on cooperation in science and education between the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science and Technology of Ecuador and the Belarusian National Technical University. Thus, we count on Belarusian technology and knowledge,” said the head of the diplomatic mission. The diplomat also emphasized that Belarus and Ecuador have been implementing joint projects in the oil and gas and transport sectors.
According to the Ambassador, in October 2013 President of Ecuador Rafael Correa Delgado paid an official visit to Belarus. Then the two parties agreed to open embassies. “Since then the diplomatic relations between the two countries have entered a higher level,” said Carlos Larrea Davila.
Attending the wreath placing ceremony were representatives of the Belarusian government bodies, including the Defense Ministry and the Minsk City Hall, universities, public organizations and foreign diplomats.
