MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – Presentations of Belarusian regions in Russia promotes the growth of the trade between the two countries, Charge d’Affaires ad Interim of Belarus to Russia Yuri Yarosevich said at the presentation of Mogilev Oblast at the business and cultural center of the Belarusian embassy in Moscow on 25 October, BelTA has learned.

The idea of holding presentations of Belarusian regions was put forward by the embassy. It was supported by the regions and the head of government. Successful presentations of Grodno Oblast, Gomel Oblast, Brest Oblast, Minsk Oblast and the city of Minsk have already taken place.

These events made a considerable contribution to the continued growth of trade between Belarus and Russia, an increase in the supply of Belarusian goods. In January-August 2017, the trade between Belarus and Russia exceeded $20 billion, up 20% as against the same period in 2016. Moreover, both Belarusian exports and Russian imports in the bilateral trade grow at the same rate of 22-23%.

On 25 October the business and cultural center of the embassy hosted the sixth event of the kind on Mogilev Oblast. The discussions and the relevant presentations demonstrated the potential and opportunities of the region. Guests were treated to a musical program that featured the best creative teams and performers of Mogilev Oblast, as well as a tasting of Belarusian dishes.
