Deputy premier: Belarusian food products are recognized around the world

MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – Belarusian food products is well-known for their high quality around the world. Belarus is a major food exporter to Russia, Africa and Southeast Asia, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Shuleiko told the media on the sidelines of the 30th edition of the international wholesale trade show Prodexpo 2024, BelTA has learned.

Yuri Shuleiko, who is responsible for the agricultural sector, emphasized that he is proud to open such a large-scale event, which showcases the achievements of the country's agricultural industry. According to him, Prodexpo is a great opportunity to discuss plans for the next year, to determine the development trends and study the demand in domestic and foreign markets.

"This large-scale exhibition will continue to grow. Today we can announce that next year's exhibition will be held in a completely different format," the deputy prime minister said. "The National Exhibition Center, the construction of which is on the home stretch, will become a great exhibition venue."

Yuri Shuleiko stressed that the Dazhynki harvest festival to celebrate the end of the agricultural season is a holiday for workers of both agricultural and processing industries. "I am sincerely happy about our achievements. We know well what to do next to take our powerful processing industry further," he added.

Yuri Shuleiko expressed the hope for constructive dialogues and discussions regarding taste preferences of buyers, prices, shelf life and range of goods.

The 30th edition of the international wholesale trade show Prodexpo 2024 is running at the Minsk Football Indoor Arena on 12-15 November. The event has brought together 160 participants from eight countries. This year Prodexpo presents the widest range of food products: from everyday products and drinks to healthy food, delicacies and exotic food products from abroad. Belarusian and foreign enterprises are showcasing meat, dairy, bakery and confectionery products, fish and other sea products, vegetables, fruits, herbs, special nutrition, food ingredients, raw materials, additives. On display are shop equipment, manufacturing equipment, containers and packaging for food industry. The exhibition includes an extensive business program.
