MOSCOW, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarus advocates strengthening the international status of the CIS, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko told the media following a meeting of the CIS Economic Council held in Moscow on 29 November, BelTA has learned.
"We are preparing a plan of measures for the CIS economic development strategy for 2025-2030. At the suggestion of the Belarusian side, the document includes a section on international cooperation. We believe that the implementation of the measures envisaged in this section will give momentum to the interaction between the CIS and friendly associations and the cooperation with international economic organizations," Igor Petrishenko stated.
"We believe that the CIS member states should pay more attention to the CIS international status and its position on the international arena. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about this at the CIS summit in October," he emphasized.
