Deputy minister: Belarusian food products will always be in demand around the world

MINSK, 14 November (BelTA) - Despite the sanctions, Belarusian food products will always be in demand in the world, Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Grakun said at the international food show Prodexpo 2023 on 14 November, BelTA has learned.

According to the deputy minister, the markets, to which Belarus exports its products, remain stable and their number is replenished. “Now two of our delegations are paying visits to friendly countries and are working on the supply of Belarusian food. I would like to note that the quality of our products is known all over the world, it is the brand of our country. Thus, despite the sanctions, our products will always be in demand in the world,” Vladimir Grakun said.

He named Russia as the main supply partner, and also other CIS countries. “We also supply products to Serbia and Moldova. We are working on cooperation with African countries. We are also starting to work with China, and the volume of products supplied there is constantly increasing,” the deputy minister added.

The international food show Prodexpo 2023 is taking place in Minsk on 14-17 November. This year the forum features 126 participants from five countries. These are enterprises from Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Turkmenistan. The exhibition program will include business events to discuss problems and prospects for the food industry market development, and also negotiations between retailers, suppliers and manufacturers. The exhibition will host tasting contests, an international symposium of bakers, a culinary cup and many more.
