MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) - Culture is a bridge that connects the peoples of Belarus and China, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming said at the opening of the gala concert, Spring Festival Brings Joy to Belarus, that took place at the Belarusian State Philharmonics on 25 February, BelTA informs.
The diplomat said that the program of the concert was developed to demonstrate the traditional and modern Chinese culture. He expressed an opinion that the Belarusian audience would be interested in the performance of representatives of the Shaolin martial arts school. In turn, Belarus’ Deputy Culture Minister Vasily Chernik said that the Belarusian-Chinese cultural relations have been actively developing. This year the Belarusian Days of Culture will take place in China.
The concert was a bright show that showcased a variety of the Chinese culture. National dances and songs by the Henan creative company and an exhibition show from representatives of the Shaolin martial arts school (Dengfeng) were hailed by the Belarusian audience.
The Chinese Spring Festival is taking place in the Belarusian capital on 24-26 February. The program on 24 February featured a press conference, a concert and an opening of the photo exhibition A New Face of the Silk Road. A cultural Chinese bazaar will take place on 26 February.
The Chinese Spring Festival celebrations were organized by the Culture Ministry of China, the Chinese diplomatic mission in Minsk, the Culture Ministry of Belarus under the auspices of the Cultural Department of Henan Province and Bel Huawei Technologies.
