Cui Qiming: Belarus-China relations have entered the best period of their development

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Chinese relations have entered the best period of their development, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming said a press conference held on 24 February to mark China’s Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), BelTA has learned.

According to the head of the diplomatic mission, 2015 was a very fruitful year. “Thanks to the leaders of the two states the Belarusian-Chinese relations have entered the best period of their development in the history of the bilateral ties. The relations of all-round strategic partnership have reached a new level. Pragmatic cooperation in various spheres has been vibrantly developing, bringing more and more results,” Cui Qiming stressed.

The Ambassador noted that China and Belarus have considerably strengthened political cooperation. In May 2015 Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Belarus. It was the first visit of the Chinese head of state to Minsk in the last 14 years.

Cui Qiming: Belarus-China relations have entered the best period of their developmentIn September 2015 Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko visited Beijing to take part in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War Two and the resistance of the Chinese nation to Japanese invaders.

Cui Qiming also stressed the importance of the successful launch of a communication satellite by China and Belarus a month ago.

In his words, the opening of the direct flight between Beijing and Minsk has become another essential step in the development of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation. Besides, the two countries signed a protocol to the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa-free trips for tourist groups.

According to the diplomat, Belarus and China have been steadily developing their relations and have every condition for their further strengthening.
