MOSCOW, 21 December (BelTA) – The presidents of the CSTO member states are in favor of creating a broad coalition for fighting international terrorism on the basis of the UN Charter and the international law. Armenia President Serzh Sargsyan made the statement after the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council Collective Security Council in Moscow. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko attended the event, BelTA has learned.
“The CSTO countries are in favor of creating a broad coalition on the basis of the provisions of the UN Charter, norms and regulations of the international law. I am confident that the fight against terrorism cannot be effective without cutting off its sources and channels of financing,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
He emphasized that the meeting of the CSTO leaders took place against the backdrop of a rather difficult situation caused by the rapidly growing international terrorist threat that jeopardizes the security of the global community, countries and entire regions.
