BEIJING, 1 August (BelTA) - China highly values the friendly relations with Belarus, Vice Director of CPC Central Committee International Department European and Asian Section Qian Naicheng told journalists, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus and China will soon be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Over the years, we have achieved great results in various fields. The Chinese side is ready to further promote strategic cooperation with Belarus,” Mr Qian Naicheng said.
The coming months will see some important events which will give a new impetus to the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation. Among them is a visit of a representative Chinese delegation to Belarus in September.
Mr Qian Naicheng emphasized that China builds its foreign policy on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, mutual respect, and non-interference in each other's affairs.
In 2015, China was among Belarus’ three main trading partners. According to the Belarusian Economy Ministry, last year the trade between Belarus and China amounted to more than $3 billion, up by 5.6% over 2014. Belarusian export totaled about $800 million (an increase of 22%), import came at $2.4 billion (up by 1.1%).
