MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) views its cooperation with Belarus as an example to follow in strengthening its ties with other countries of the CIS, IEC General Secretary Frans Vreeswijk said as he met with Permanent Representative of Belarus to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva Yuri Ambrazevich on 24 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Belarus and the IEC, and the preparations for the 79th IEC General Assembly to be held in Minsk in October.
Yuri Ambrazevich pointed out that Belarus highly appreciates the confidence reposed in it as the host country. “He emphasized that the forthcoming high-level event will help demonstrate the level of Belarus’ industrial development, its innovative capacity, and potential for attracting investment,” the press service added.
