MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – Belarus continues negotiating its accession to the World Trade Organization and will be successful at this endeavor, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov on 21 April.
According to the official, as a member of the Eurasian Economic Union Belarus has already fulfilled virtually all the WTO requirements, however, the country receives no advantages and benefits that WTO membership can give. “We continue negotiations and will secure success sooner or later,” said Valentin Rybakov.
The official went on saying that as the agency in charge of coordinating Belarus’ foreign economic cooperation with other countries the Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes steps required to diversify export, in particular, for the sake of evenly distributing Belarusian merchandise deliveries between the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union, the European Union, and the distant arc countries. Valentin Rybakov noted that a lot has yet to be done to achieve the final goal. But a lot has been done already for the sake of, for instance, better representation of Belarusian vehicles and machines on markets of non-CIS countries.
