MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – China demonstrates its solid and unwavering support for Belarus, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Cui Qiming told BelTA as he spoke about China’s aid to Belarus in the form of supplies of medical products.
“The Chinese government has decided to supply reagents for coronavirus tests, medical protective gear, infrared thermometers, safety glasses, disposable medical gloves, shoe covers, and other medical products to Belarus,” the ambassador said.
China and Belarus have maintained close ties since the coronavirus outbreak and have provided assistance to each other. “After the virus outbreak in China, Belarus immediately lent China a helping hand. The Belarusian head of state personally sent a special message to the Chinese leader and immediately gave an instruction to send humanitarian aid to China. After several months of a fierce fight with the virus, the situation in China has changed for the better,” Ambassador Cui Qiming said.
He also commended Belarus’ measures to respond to the coronavirus.
“Close cooperation and mutual support between China and Belarus in the joint fight against the epidemic demonstrate the high level of Chinese-Belarusian relations,” the ambassador stressed.
On 24 March, Ambassador Cui Qiming met with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to discuss the development of cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
