CHANGCHUN, 31 August (BelTA) - Belarus is an important transportation corridor in the Belt and Road project, Special Representative for China-CEE Cooperation Affairs of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Huo Yuzhen told BelTA on the sidelines of the 5th Global Economic Leaders Summit in the city of Changchun (sister city of Minsk).
Ms Huo Yuzhen highlighted the obvious importance of the joint implementation by Belarus and China of the Belt and Road concept in many areas, including in economy, energy, investment, and transport. By the way, trains for Europe start from the city of Changchun, one of the important hubs of the Silk Road economic belt. “Organization of uninterrupted transportation is a key factor for trade and economic cooperation among the Belt and Road participating countries. Here Belarus plays an extremely important role,” she said.
The Special Representative for China-CEE Cooperation Affairs of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs coordinates the 16+1 cooperation, in which Belarus is an observer.
