MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) - China hopes to expand cultural interaction with Belarus, Ms Zhao Shi, First Deputy Chairperson of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, said at a ceremony to open an international mobile exposition of the 12th All-China Art Exhibition in Minsk on 31 July, BelTA has learned.
Ms Zhao Shi believes that the Chinese art works presented in the Belarusian capital will promote better mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries. She also noted that the Belarusian and Chinese peoples are developing traditionally friendly relations in all areas with the support of the leaders of the two states.
"Both countries have deep national traditions, which creates a good basis for cultural exchanges," said Ms Zhao Shi.
For his part, Belarus Culture Minister Boris Svetlov stressed that the Belarusian-Chinese cultural relations have been increasingly vibrant, which is evidenced by a constant exchange of cultural days and cultural events.
The exhibition has opened at the National Library. Its organizers are the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Belarusian Confederation of Art Unions and the Chinese Association of Artists.
A cooperation agreement between the Belarus Confederation of Art Unions and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles was signed during the event.
