MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – Belarus is an island of stability in Eurasia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming said when speaking at the 5th Belarusian People’s Congress on 22 June, BelTA has learned.
“Over the past five years, the global and regional situation has changed dramatically. Peace and development are facing numerous challenges worldwide,” Cui Qiming pointed out. In this context, he said that Belarus is developing at a rapid pace under the presidency of Alexander Lukashenko. “Public order and political stability are maintained in Belarus. The country is recognized as an island of stability in Eurasia. Belarusian people respect and honor their history and traditions, stand for universal truth and justice. They are honest and always keep their promises,” Cui Qiming said.
The Chinese diplomat added that Belarus always pursues a peaceful foreign policy and plays an indispensable part in protecting peace and stability in the region. By defending the sovereignty, security, interests and dignity of their country, Belarusian people have earned great respect from the international community.
Cui Qiming pointed out that China and Belarus are strategic partners developing all-round cooperation. The diplomatic relations between Belarus and China have been developing steadily since their establishment 24 years ago. “Our cooperation is continuously growing stronger,” the diplomat stressed.
