MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) – One of CITIC Group’s goals is to secure close friendship between Belarus and China, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CITIC Group Chang Zhenming told the media on 28 July, BelTA informs.

“Our countries have established all-weather partnership relations. The goal of our company is to implement this cooperation,” Chang Zhenming said.

The Chinese company plans to expand the areas of cooperation with Belarus. For example, the corporation is gearing up to participate in a tender to upgrade Grodno-Azot. Negotiations are also under way to supply equipment for Slavkali.

While in Belarus, CITIC Group representatives held negotiations with heads of several ministries and departments, and also their business partners. According to Chang Zhenming, the company is satisfied with the results. “Belarus has very favorable working conditions and it is great to work with our Belarusian counterparts. We have great complementarity between the Belarusian market and our activities,” he said.

The results of the visit of the Chinese delegation to Minsk and the agreements reached during it were discussed at the meeting between Chang Zhenming and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 28 July. The head of state assured the board of CITIC Group that their investment in the Belarusian economy would yield results.
