MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – Chairman of the State Standardization Committee of Belarus Viktor Nazarenko outlined key tasks for 2015. The head of the agency formulated them for mass media before a session of the Committee’s board on 18 February, BelTA has learned.
In particular, it is necessary to increase the export potential of Belarusian companies and enable conditions to allow them to trade abroad. “This is why we would like all our organizations to provide all kinds of assistance to the production sector,” noted Viktor Nazarenko.
The protection of the Belarusian market from unsafe and poor-quality products is another task, which is as important. The official stated that in view of the very intensive development of integration associations a lot of factors have emerged that lead to increasing import and leave markets exposed to dangerous products.
“We know what to do,” stressed the head of the agency. “We address some problems with assistance of colleagues inside the Customs Union but we mainly count on our own resources. We make amendments to the legislation, work together with colleagues from the Healthcare Ministry, the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Emergencies Ministry, and other oversight agencies in order to get prepared for any situations”.
