Call for more active promotion of Belarusian culture abroad
MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – We need to step up effort to promote the Belarusian language and culture abroad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Hungary Alexander Gainovsky said when speaking at the opening of the Belarus and Belarusians expo in Budapest, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
Alexander Gainovsky underlined the importance of maintaining close contacts with compatriots, and with friends of Belarus abroad. The diplomat also spoke about the Embassy’s plans for 2016 which was declared the year of culture, cultural and educational activities in Belarus.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, representatives of he Belarusian Diaspora, intellectuals, students studying Belarusian language in Budapest, and members of the general public. The expo has been prepared by the National History Museum of Belarus. It tells about the main stages of the historical development of Belarus, relations with neighboring countries, and shows the Belarusian nation as an integral part of the global community. The project introduces the audience to the culture, cuisine and language of Belarus.
Earlier the Belarus and Belarusians expo was on display in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
