MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – It is necessary to work out a clear-cut strategy to digitize all the industries and the country as a whole, BelTA learned from Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan during the 26th international forum on information and communication technologies TIBO 2019 on 8 April.
According to the source, in 2018 the head of state formulated a number of tasks to accelerate economic development and raise living standards by leveraging digital transformation. The role of the Communications and Informatization Ministry as the strategic staff in charge of developing digital technologies on the country’s scale became more pronounced. “We are talking about Industry 4.0 in the manufacturing sector, precision farming, and the creation of a full-value digital healthcare and education system. It is necessary to formulate a clear, understandable, and concrete strategy for digitizing all branches and the country as a whole,” Konstantin Shulgan noted.
According to the communications and informatization minister, the TIBO 2019 forum is designed to make its own contribution to achieving the goals and forming an extensive action plan on comprehensive digital transformation.
The TIBO 2019 forum is scheduled to take place in Minsk Arena on 8-12 April. A specialized expo will be opened on 9 April. Konstantin Shulgan explained the expo will feature R&D products designed to produce economic and social benefits in various areas. Attention will be drawn to promising startups, which may become breakthrough projects.
