OSIPOVICHI, 21 June (BelTA) – It is necessary to pass on memory about events of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 from generation to generation, BelTA learned from Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sergeyenko.
Igor Sergeyenko said: “The day 22 June 1941 will always remain in the memory of the Soviet nation, memory of residents of our country. It is now a day of commemoration and sorrow. It is not just a symbol but real pain of the people.”
To preserve historical memory and the continuity of generations is another task facing the current generation of Belarusians. “It is necessary to pass it on from generation to generation. It is necessary to talk about those tragic years of our history, to talk to people about the heroic deeds our people committed during the Great Patriotic War,” the official stressed. “It is also necessary to talk about those, who became victims of the dreadful war. All of it needs to be done in order to avoid a repeat of the errors later on.”
