Better economic competitiveness, higher household income named Belarus’ priorities for 2022

MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) - Improving the competitiveness of the economy and the level of people’s incomes will be number one priorities for Belarus in 2022, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said in an interview to the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“Our goal for the coming year is to achieve the two most important priorities. These are to increase economic competitiveness of the country and the level of its household incomes. I am sure that we can fulfil these and other ambitious tasks,” said Roman Golovchenko.

In his words, the economy is working in a steady and balanced way today. “The country has ensured that wages and real incomes of its people increased, enterprises worked uninterruptedly, and labor collectives were preserved. Everyone who has worked honestly can proudly say that they have contributed to the common result," said the prime minister.

“The year 2021 is remembered for its high dynamics, appearance of new challenges, which, thanks to wisdom and composure, patriotism and unity of our citizens, we managed to cope with. In fact, the situation forced us to adapt to life and work under the new reality in which it was important for us to find the right ways and solutions. All resources were focused on ensuring social and economic stability in the country, both in the current period and for the foreseeable future. We have successfully coped with it together, shoulder to shoulder, embodying in practice the idea of the Year of People’s Unity,” said Roman Golovchenko.
