MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – The Zapad 2017 army exercise demonstrated the highest level of openness, Belarusian First Deputy Defense Minister, Chief of the General Staff Oleg Belokonev said in an interview to the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“A total of 286 journalists from 22 countries were accredited. Representatives of the NATO, the OSCE, the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the CIS, and the CSTO were invited to observe the army games,” said Oleg Belokonev.
The first deputy minister stressed that the military exercise demonstrated the highest level of openness and transparency of the state. “We have fulfilled everything we talked about at the briefings,” he said.
