MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Belarusian businessmen are eager to strengthen cooperation with Belarusian companies, Pascale Delcomminette, CEO of the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency Awex, said at the opening of the business meetings В2В Belarus-Belgium 2016 on 1 March, BelTA has learned.
“We have not been to Belarus for quite a long time. The last time that we organized a visit of a Belgian economic delegation to this country was in 2009. However, we welcomed many Belarusian delegations in Belgium. We have plans to organize a number of meetings, a kind of a roadshow, to provide Belarusian companies with an opportunity to meet with Belgian partners from different sectors of economy,” Pascale Delcomminette said.
The Belarusian-Belgian Export-Import Agency Belexia was set up in August 2015. Its establishment gave a considerable impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation.
Pascale Delcomminette noted that Belarus and Belgium share a number of similarities. First of all, these include the size of the population. Besides, both Belgium and Belarus have open economies.
“Our countries serve as points of entrance to integration organizations, Belarus to the Eurasian Economic Union, and Belgium to the European Union. I believe we can develop a number of initiatives on this basis,” Pascale Delcomminette pointed out.
Minsk is hosting the business meetings В2В Belarus-Belgium 2016 from 29 February though 2 March. The event has been organized by the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency Awex and the Belarusian-Belgian Export-Import Agency Belexia. The forum is expected to help Belarusian and Belgian businessmen find potential partners and launch joint projects to manufacture competitive products and enter new markets.
