MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – Belarusian wrestlers won six medals at the Grand Prix de France Henri Deglane in Nice, BelTA has learned.
Silver medals were clinched by Vladislav Andreyev (57kg weight category), Niurgun Skriabin (65kg), Georgy Koliyev (70kg), Denis Khromenkov (97kg). Bronze medals went to Andrei Bekrenev (61kg) and Andrei Karpach (74kg).
Taking part in the competitions were about 200 athletes.
The tournament commemorates Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling Henri Deglane (1924). The athlete headed Lutte Club Nice.
Ahead of the 2019 European Wrestling Championships scheduled for 8-14 April in Bucharest, the Belarusian athletes will hold a training camp jointly with Kazakhstan’s team and take part in another international tournament.
Wrestling makes part of the 2nd European Games. Eighteen wrestling medal events will be held in the Minsk Palace of Sports in June 2019.
