MOSCOW, 30 May (BelTA) - The Belarusian nuclear power plant can be considered an exemplary project, Alexander Merten, President of Rusatom International Network, said at the international forum Atomexpo in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus has a highly-developed industrial complex to implement a nuclear project, responsible people. This has been noted by the IAEA senior officials and the head of Rosatom. This is a big construction project involving Belarusian companies who perform a great deal of work,” Alexander Merten said. According to him the course of the construction in Ostrovets shows that in the future the Belarusian specialists will be able to take part in other nuclear projects by Rosatom.
Alexander Merten stressed that political insinuations around the Belarusian nuclear project have nothing to do with reality. “The project in Belarus is in full compliance with international rules and is under the supervision of the IAEA. Construction of the plant is strictly supervised by Belarusian oversight authorities and also international organizations. We have no doubt that it meets all safety requirements,” he added.
Rusatom International Network establishes and runs Rosatom’s regional centers abroad constituting the overseas regional network intended for international sales and promotion of the products of Rosatom nuclear energy sector.
