MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – The government will continue to support the light industry enterprises, Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said at the opening of the 40th exhibition Beltexlegprom. Spring 2017, BelTA has learned.
“The government will continue to support light industry companies in their continuous development. We will help our companies to grow,” Vladimir Semashko said.
The vice premier remarked that an upgrade project has been completed at Baranovichi Cotton Production Amalgamation. “We upgraded Orsha Linen Mill and saw economic results. The mill posted a profitability of 24-26%. The structure of sales has changed with the share of export surging from 35% to 80%. The mill now makes goods competitive on the markets of the CIS countries, the EU and Asia,” Vladimir Semashko noted.
The vice premier noted that there are three important things to mention about this year’s Beltexlegprom expo. “Firstly, this is the 40th anniversary edition. Secondly, this year marks 25 years since the founding of Bellegprom Concern. Thirdly, the exhibition is co-located with the first Belarusian-Pakistani business forum of light industry producers,” he said.
Such exhibitions are an opportunity for producers to showcase their goods and assess the demand, said Vladimir Semashko. “It is important for manufacturers to hear consumers’ opinion, make necessary adjustments to meet the demand,” he said. The vice premier also noted that trade fairs are a good opportunity to sign new contracts.
