MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – After the government conference held by the Belarus president on 1 April to discuss the development of the national education system Belarusian Education Minister Mikhail Zhuravkov shed some light on how optimization in this sphere will proceed, BelTA has learned.
According to the official, the optimization of the education system was discussed among other things during the government conference held by the Belarus president. “Particularly the optimization of the structures that provide services to the education system. Those are research institutes, the National Education Institute. We outlined what we intend to do and the head of state approved the plans,” noted Mikhail Zhuravkov.
Apart from that, participants of the government conference took a look at the optimization of education institutions. For instance, plans were mentioned to merge several vocational training schools if they are located in one area and individually operate ineffectively.
“There is another very promising idea. We could set up holdings or make colleges and vocational schools part of universities for the sake of integrated training. If we did so, students would be able to get specialized education in colleges and could continue their education in universities,” explained the Belarusian Education Minister.
