MOSCOW, 15 December (BelTA) – Russia highly appreciates Belarus’ efforts as this year’s presiding country of the Eurasian Economic Union. President of Russia Vladimir Putin made the statement after negotiations with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Moscow on 15 December, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Putin said that the negotiations had touched upon prospects of development of the Eurasian Economic Union among other things. “We highly appreciate Belarus’ efforts as the presiding country of this integration association this year,” said the President of Russia. “We support the steps taken by Minsk to build up the legal base of our organization considering the accession of new members — Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.”
