MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) - Belarus and Kazakhstan have made great advances in the development of interparliamentary cooperation, Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus’ National Assembly Boleslav Pirshtuk said at the international conference “Kazakhstan-Belarus: 25 years of the diplomatic relations. Results, reality and prospects” , BelTA has learned.
The legal framework of the bilateral relations includes about 80 treaties and agreements in various fields, of which 35 are interstate and intergovernmental agreements. We have the interparliamentary friendship groups, and develop the collaboration at the regional and international levels.
Boleslav Pirshtuk underlined the strategic and friendly cooperation between the two countries. Negotiations and meetings of MPs, leaders of the parliament are held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and openness.
“We appreciate our constructive cooperation within the framework of international organizations and are grateful to colleagues for support and understanding in international and inter-parliamentary organizations. Belarus and Kazakhstan have similar positions on a wide range of activities. We fruitfully interact in such organizations as the Eurasian Economic Union, the CIS, the CSTO, and the SCO,” Boleslav Pirshtuk said.
The international conference “Kazakhstan-Belarus: 25 years of the diplomatic relations. Results, reality and prospects” was attended by the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Belarus, the parliament, government bodies, think tanks and universities. The forum discussed the cooperation in the field of information, culture, science, economy and education.
