MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Belarus views the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA) as an important venue for mutually beneficial inter-parliamentary dialogue, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met with the OSCE PA delegation led by President Christine Muttonen on 16 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Vladimir Makei noted that Belarus views the OSCE PA as an important venue to develop mutually beneficial inter-parliamentary dialogue on common approaches to the key issues of ensuring stability and security in the OSCE region. He reaffirmed the ministry’s readiness to provide all possible assistance in the organization of the forthcoming OSCE PA summer session in Minsk,” the ministry said.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of Belarus’ cooperation with the OSCE and its Parliamentary Assembly, including the issues related to the preparations for the 26th OSCE PA Annual Session in Belarus. The forum will take place in Minsk on 5-9 July.
The delegation comprised the OSCE PA Secretary General, the OSCE PA Deputy Secretary General and a number of experts.
