MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) – The finalized roadmap for cooperation between Belarus and Venezuela will be signed in Minsk, Belarus’ Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko told BelTA.
“We were busy with finalizing the roadmap. It will be signed today,” he said. According to Vladimir Semashko, the document will be finally approved by the presidents of Belarus and Venezuela.
“We have agreed that if there are remarks from the presidents before 15 December, we will be able to introduce them. A roadmap is relatively short document that describes the main positions. Every point of it should envisage a concrete action plan. The document includes all the major blocks: general issues, industry, agriculture, construction, petrochemistry, gas, electricity and also culture and sport. We are going to sign the roadmap. All its action plans will be described in detail before 25 January 2018,” the vice premier said.
During the visit of Venezuela Vice President Ricardo Menendez to Belarus the parties are set to sign the traditional document, namely the protocol of the 7th session of the Belarusian-Venezuelan joint economic and trade commission.
Vladimir Semashko also spoke about the progress in the previously announced barter transactions with Venezuela, which are designed to contribute to solving some issues in trade and economic cooperation. “I think today we will sign the first contract to make such a barter deal happen. We will ship MAZ truck kits to Venezuela and in return get hot briquetted iron which Belarusian Steel Mill needs badly,” the vice premier noted.
