MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Venezuela have very strong bonds of friendship and trust, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said at the talks with his Venezuelan counterpart Yvan Gil Pinto in Minsk on 16 October, BelTA has learned.
Despite the rich history of bilateral relations, this is the first official visit of the minister of foreign affairs of Venezuela to Belarus.
"We are confident that your visit will serve to further strengthen and expand the entire range of our relations, which are characterized by very strong bonds of friendship, mutual understanding and trust," Sergei Aleinik said.
The foreign ministers of Belarus and Venezuela are set to discuss the development of political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, the expansion of cooperation in humanitarian matters, education, science and culture.
"We will exchange views on the most pressing global and regional issues, our interaction and mutual support in international organizations," the minister added.
