MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Turkey will review progress in implementing the agreements reached at the highest level, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Belarus Kezban Nilvana Darama.
She emphasized that these matters will be high on the agenda of the talks in Minsk during the official visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to Belarus on 27-28 August. According to the diplomat, Belarus and Turkey have achieved significant progress in building contacts after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited Belarus in 2016. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko returned the visit in April 2019.
“The exchange of visits and contacts at the highest and other levels became regular and continuous, which allowed developing an effective mechanism of maintaining bilateral cooperation,” Kezban Nilvana Darama said. In her view, the visit of the Turkish foreign minister will help thoroughly analyze the progress the two countries made in fulfilling the highest-level agreements and to determine new areas of cooperation.
