MOSCOW, 8 June (BelTA) – Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov expressed gratitude to Belarus for assistance in facilitating the Ukrainian settlement and hosting meetings of the trilateral contact group. The Russian minister made the statement at a press briefing after the talks with Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei in Moscow on 8 June, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Lavrov emphasized that good organizational and technical support of the meetings of the contact group played an important role for successful negotiations.

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei reiterated that Belarus is ready to host talks on Ukraine at any level and in any format.

The ministers were unanimous that the only key to the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict was the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
